There have been a lot of changes happening in the world we are living in within the past few years and as we evolve, so does our technology. It has to, and so does the way we do business.
2020 saw some massive changes in the eyes of the business world and so many people’s personal lives too. Now, we are all starting to pick up those pieces and make some sense out of the aftermath of it all. One thing that has been made very clear is that as far as the marketing world is concerned, everything has changed, and honestly, it’s not all that bad.
Due to the versatility needed to make sure that businesses stayed afloat as the world fell apart, many business owners started to run their business from their living room. Now, people are still running their business from the comfort of their own home while some have returned to work. Either way, businesses have had to adapt which also means that marketers have had to adapt. What we once took for granted became obsolete and some social media sites that appeared to be drowning got life reserves.
Facebook is one of those social media sites. For years, it has been slowly sinking in comparison to giants like YouTube. It’s become known as the older generation social media site. However, 2020 was able to breathe some new life back into the old site through its business page features.
Here are some of those Facebook features you may not be aware of:
- Facebook has a new look and feels and an updated navigation
- A new Q&A format for engaging fans
- FB has done away with the “Like” button and instead is focused more on followers
- It has a dedicated new feed for following trends, joining conversations, and interacting with fans
- It has actionable insights and notifications that are more relevant
- It’s better at detecting spam-related content and hacked accounts
There’s a lot of changes happening in FB, it has to keep up with its competitors. Once a giant itself, FB still makes a huge impact on the way people do business, even if it’s not so popular with the younger crowd. Though, it is making great strides to attract every age group.
A few days ago, FB rolled out its newest feature: Live Audio Rooms. These rooms use a profile or the new Facebook pages on iOS. Within the following weeks, more FB users will be able to listen to Live Audio Rooms and podcasts. It’s a way for people to tell stories that others want to listen to.
With the world moving so fast, I’ll leave you with one final thought,
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. -Ferris Bueller
